The cafe is very quaint and traditional. (its quite cute actually) The food however is amazing! I tried something I wouldn't normally get, it was a kind of cabbage skillet with seafood (it has a long Korean name) and it was sooo good. You can try it with bacon instead of seafood. But if you want a good English breakfast they got it as well! Highly recommend.
What a fantastic little restaurant. The food was delicious. I had the teriyaki chicken skillet and the honey bread with cinnamon and caramel. It was delicious! The ambiance alone was worth the trip. I will be going back.
Love the atmosphere but service is something to be improved. Have gone 3 times and each time they come to the table and ask for drinks. Then it takes them 10 minutes to bring them, even when it's dead. Then they ask for food and bring it out. They don't come ask how the food is ever. You have to wave them down from the front to ask for something or tell them something is missing. When your done they don't even come to take your plates or offer dessert and coffee. You could sit there for 3 hours and they wouldn't even care even if it was busy. Over all, food and atmosphere are amazing 5/5! But really really bad service brings it down by 4. Their saving grace is that you can write little memos on a paper lemons and tie it to a tree inside. It's cute. 2/5
The food was good. I had the spicy pork and my partner had the la-galbi. Both were cooked well and the portion size was adequate for sure. Chocolate brownie was pedestrian but quite enjoyed the honey peach tee we had with it. The place wasn't very busy and service was a little slow but we will come back.
I would love this place to stay St Vital's little secret, but I know it won't...and it shouldn't. Upon entering what seems like an old school Nana's kitchen and finding a seat, you will be greeted with a smile. Start with the Chai Latte, one of the best in the city...and glance at a great menu, highlighted by the skillets. Try a breakfast one to get your day off on the right foot. Great food, you will leave full, and hope you enjoy as much as I did.
